I get the impression that a lot of people hate this fountain, but I think it's awesome. It reminds me of something that would have been in Planet of the Apes or Logan's Run: an early Seventies vision of the Grim Meathook Future.

Dear everybody I know, You fucked up.
Classic between-song banter: "We wrote this song while PMSing. I get really emotional, like, TV commercials make me cry -- especially the ones about whales. 'The whaaaales are dyyyying!' And I feel guilty for not having any babies. When I get my period I think, 'Well, that's one more baby I'm not going to have.' Now I call it dropping yolks. Anyway. This next song is called Dead Babies." |

[Mon, 14-Apr-2008 2:07 PM] |
I didn't take too many pictures at Nerd Rave Yuri's Night, because I brought the wrong lens (I brought the 24mm because I figured the place would be full of Big Things, but, not so much). Capacitor was great, and the air show was cool. The rest was just ok.
I think the NASA-branded glowstick pretty much tells the whole story.

| Dandi Wind |
[Mon, 10-Mar-2008 3:18 PM] |
If you weren't one of the thirty people to see Dandi Wind last night at Bottom of the Hill, you screwed up. That was one of the most entertaining shows I've seen in a long time. They were a guy playing keyboards and a girl dancing like a spastic monkey. She was radiating Nina Hagen levels of crazy the whole time, it was awesome. I wish the Centro camera wasn't so utterly worthless: Also re-discovered on my phone: here's bathroom graffiti from some random Mission bar from a few weeks ago: |

| sensor cleaning, again |
[Mon, 9-Jul-2007 10:41 PM] |
So, my Canon 5D's sensor is (still) dirty. I've bought a couple different cleaning kits, and, while I've occasionally achieved something of a local maximum, I can't get it fuckin' clean. I just end up moving the gunk around. If I take it to Calumet, they'll just mail it off to Canon, and I'll be without a camera for 6+ weeks. Is there anyone SF-local who will clean these things with a turnaround time measured in days instead of weeks? |

I happened to be wearing my Obey Propaganda Industries t-shirt one day, and a random guy on the subway asked me if I was going to the opening that night: turns out Shepard Fairey was having a show! I didn't make it to the opening, but the exhibit itself was amazing. The "studio" versions of his posters have many more layers and are incredibly detailed. His stuff was omnipresent all over town. There was even a classic "Andre" sticker on the trash can next to the boarding gate for my flight home. |
