I hadn't read the CBN bio until now (I'd read Wonkette and PZMyer's takes), but that's just ultimately ironic.

...paging Mr. Bartleby and Mr. Loki...
Thank you for using the word 'irony' properly, after about 8 people on my flist not doing so.

I find this picture to be iconic of everything wrong with this sort of "Christian".
I think technically the Prosperity Gospel crowd is a subset of those who would identify as American Pentecostals, but I'd bet praying for worldly riches is more popular than speaking in tongues.
One nice thing about most of the mainline Protestant traditions in the US, in the context of the modern market, is that a given church building is usually owned by the congregation (not the national organization, which is good for handling schisms, except for the Episcopal Church USA), and the annual budget is publicly available and more importantly voted on by the congregation.

I just wanted to use the word 'iconic' in response to a post about Christians praying to a bronze bull. A pun, you see?
(This hurts me more than it hurts you.)
Damn. And I just let it slip idolly by.

In today's economy, you have to make those sorts of sacrifices.

It's not that bad. Don't have a cow, man.
I think we're stretching it.

a Baal-out of Wall Street?
In January of this year, Cindy Jacobs was in a worship service when the Lord spoke to her, “Cindy, the strongman over America doesn’t live in Washington, DC – the strongman lives in New York City! Call My people to pray for the economy.”
This is baffling for a non-obvious reason. Praying is asking god for something. Why would an omniscient deity tell someone to organize a group of people to nag it incessantly about something?
also Matthew 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
As you should.
It seems like you were holding onto that photo waiting for the opportunity to use it. XD I would. o_O

Isn't that McCain holding the left horn?
I liked the macro that said, "SMITING BY JEALOUS GOD TO BEGIN IN 4... 3... 2..."

Next stop: sacrificing children to Moloch.
