[music |Duran Duran -- New Moon On Monday (Long)]

Francesca Lanzavecchia:

LightMates are soft anthropomorphic pillows and warming lamps. This awfully attractive creature heats, lights and provides company. Their different sizes answer to everyone's need of heat; a mate to hug or a huge companion you can lay on.

The back brace with pockets is amusing, too.

Previously, previously, previously.

Someone has a very poor understanding of what the word anthropomorphic means.
Unless they're making anthropomorphic pillows intended to be used by shiny jelly monsters.

Vermimorphic, at a guess.

All cozy up to the Luciferic worm!

They're anthropomorphic viscera. Um, glowing ones.

Needs positional outputs (pulse the lights in beacon formation and/or use IR with a ccd?) and mechanical actuator input, e.g., vibration, contraction/expansion solenoids or the like, possibly servos if well padded.

That was my thought too. It looks a lot like the game modules from the movie.

Wasn't there some sort of soft huggable glow-worm night-light plush available to kids in the late Eighties or so? That was a lot less scary.

This reminds me a lot of what happens if a can of spray insulation freezes and then explodes on thawing, at least if there was a string of Christmas lights nearby.

The prosthetics and aids are pretty awesome, although some of them are a bit impractical for use. Still, the very idea of aesthetics in these fields is still pretty revolutionary. (Or seems to be, since nobody's medical care will pay for pretty, just Barbie-tone rubber and cheap steel.)

You're thinking of Glow-worm, and it's still available (or it was a few years ago when my kid was a toddler; we bought one for his cousin).

I love hugging giant glowing entrails.
Reminds me of my mom.
