There are a few research projects around the world that might make that a reality sometime soonish. For example, the Brain-Computer Interfaces lab at TU-Graz in Austria.

the game was created to show the futility of a missile defense system. if their is unlimited ammo and an easier interface I think the game should be 3-D as well. for balance.
