But Human League wasn't even all that great.

This is me setting you on fire.
(passes the petrol)
those early albums are amazing. There's a bit of a revival in progress; I've heard "Empire State Human" in a Ladytron DJ set, and JD Twitch played "The Things That Dreams Are Made Of" in a couple of his sets.
Ladytron covered 'Open Your Heart' as well, didn't they?
oh yeah. good point -- great cover version, too.
I've never heard the original. And I'm not really a "kid" anymore. I'll be 37 in a few mos. I never had any Human League albums back in tha day.
I'll be 38 in a few months and I never heard it either. Pop music was never really my thing.
38 on the 16th… I hadn't heard the original either, but I had horrible taste in music in the 80s.
Also, "What's a record?"
Strangely, the voice reminded me of Siouxie Sioux.
I can hear Siouxsie, sure. Personally, the voice reminded me of Happy Rhodes.
She used to be in a band called 'Black Box Recorder' who were pretty good... skip the first album (England Made Me) and go straight to 'The Facts of Life' and 'Passonoia'
when did covenant clone madonna?
Of course they can. Madonna is made from breast tissue and baby's blood. Everybody knows that.
HA! I had similar thoughts...

I don't know what the hell that was, but I liked it. Apart from the bridge, that bridge sucked balls.
The only Human League song I remember is 'Fascination'.

It always pissed me off how out of tune everything is on that song... the keyboard hook makes me kind of seasick.

You know jwz.org expired this morning, right?
This cover doesn't hold a candle to Jessica Simpson's cover of "You Spin Me (Round Like a Record)" in the blasphemy department.
Wait, what? Is there any cheese to be enjoyed, or is it just bland?
Damn, why did you have to post the link? My common sense was overpowered by my curiosity and I was unable to avoid listening to it.
The worst thing is that it's not even that terrible... it's just so blandly bad that there's nothing to hold onto, nothing even to enjoy mockingly. As you said, just pure crap.
My common sense was overpowered by my curiosity and I was unable to avoid listening to it.
This statement, my friend, is truly the essence of internet substance and should be a 72 point banner on the YouTube homepage.
s,listening,[viewing], for the youtube posting, but otherwise Iawtc.

But the best part is that the vocal track doesn't match her mouth movements. That's classic Dead or Alive!

That "video" is some fan-made crap pieced together from two of her other videos...
And posted to YouTube for the greater good of humanity.

In which she proves she has good taste in music, but poor common sense for not knowing that she could not possibly improve upon the original.

So, the other day, some friends were over. I played this video. I was all, "EH! EH! ... EH?" they were all "WTF?" and I was all, "NOWAI".
Are you sure you weren't watching the Teletubbies?
I always liked Human League.
Somehow I managed to get this song playing in two tabs simultaneously, somewhat out of sync. The result was cool, unusual and impressively creepy. I was highly disappointed when I closed one tab and the echoiness disappeared, and I realized what I had been hearing wasn't the actual song. It was much less interesting the normal way

(Huh huh, huh huh, her icon is a picture of a ball.)
meet too on not know who did the original.
I am 32, so in 80 I was 4 and I was listening via my sister mostly hard rock and heavy metal or top 40.
The original Human League song was hardly a hit. I dare say it was "obscure." But, you get +1 elite point.
Most people don't know that Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" single was a cover, either.
God, what an awful video.

The cover is nice, doesn't really compare to the original in weirdness/awesomeness, and the video is all blandly goth-pagan. I dunno... | |
