More fun than The Sims, I imagine:

"Finally, the drudgery of corporate life has been captured in a play set for adults! Bob, Joe, Ted, and Ann spend eight hours a day, five days a week, at tiny desks in tiny cubicles in a giant room packed with countless similar cubicles in a giant building filled with countless similar rooms."

Have you ever played the Sims? Drinking paint is more fun than the Sims.

I'm sure I remember trying to escape from there... Countless similar rooms all interlocked, people dreaming of escape.

There was this one room with razor mesh and some guy got sliced into bits. Another with squirty acid. Another with sound sensitive spikes.

You could only get out if you worked out some puzzle involving prime numbers or 5PM quitting time hit... Even then, management's ready to stab you in the back with a door handle if you try to leave without their okay.

It's funny mainly because they are even more sessile than their real-life counterparts. And unless the owner moves them, their office hours are 24/7.

Hello, Jamie. What's happening? We need to talk about your TPS reports.

Could be worse. I'm currently stuck in the crappy hourly hell of phone customer service. A cube is bad, but a cube where you're on a 10' tether and are forced to actually work for more or less every second is even worse. I get to go to the bathroom on my break.

All this and I have two bachelors... Biology and Microbiology.

Actually, on second thought it could be worse. I could work for EA.

Hey, at least you get a cube to yourself. In my current and previous job I've had to be in a cubicle with someone else. Actually, in my previous job, I had the cubicle to myself for a month or two after my co-worker died of a brain aneurysm.

Back in the day, people used to rail against cubicles, longing for offices. These days, I'd kill just to get a cubicle.

Just for now. They're trying to cram two people into a cube. The only advantage is that it would be for people who work opposite shifts... however one considering our hours are 8am-10pm this isn't really possible. They can't stack you right now though, each cube only has one phone.

Then again, we have pretty low-walled cubes as it is and when you considering that everyone is on the phone all the time it gets pretty loud.

Still, a friend had to share a cube with three other cow-orkers. Of course, I believe they had some sort of uber-cube.

It needs a really old guy trapped and forgotten in the cube with no exit somewhere in the center.

A cobweb hanging from his slouched frame might be cool too.

While scouring the internet for some form of "Retail" place that sells these (X-mas is too close to wait for shipping) I came across your LJ. Anywho, I work at Comcast where we sit in "pods". Imagine 4 cubicles squeezed together to form one large cubicle that only has 1 door. Personal space? I think not.

But in our call center, this would make a great Gag gift.
